Meeting Action Items You Actually Follow Up On

The value of a meeting is what happens after it. MeetMemo pulls action items out of the conversation, lets you confirm them, and keeps reminders on them.

From a sentence in a meeting to a task with a deadline

Action items usually die in one of three places: nobody wrote them down, they were written down vaguely, or they were written down and never looked at again. MeetMemo addresses each.

When MeetMemo creates structured notes, it lists action items it found, with the owner and the date if they were said. You review the list and choose which ones become tasks. Nothing is added to your task list without your confirmation.

Assigned versus suggested

Not every to-do in a conversation is a commitment, and a good follow-up system keeps the two apart.

  • Explicitly assigned. Someone clearly said who would do what and by when, for example "Dev will redo the pricing page by Thursday".
  • Suggested or implied. The conversation pointed at a follow-up, for example "someone should probably send a recap", but nobody took it on.

MeetMemo is built so that this difference stays visible. Its AI instructions only fill in an owner or a deadline when it was explicitly stated in the meeting, and otherwise leave them empty. An action item with no owner and no date is therefore a signal that it was implied, not agreed. Where the transcript supports it, an item carries a reference to the moment it came from, so you can listen to what was actually said. Nothing is assigned automatically.

This protects you from over-promising to a client because a model was too eager. You decide what becomes a commitment.

Tasks, dates and reminders

Confirmed items become tasks with a due date and optional reminders. Tasks can also be recurring. Reminders are local notifications on your phone, so they work without an internet connection once scheduled. If the due date is unclear, for example "next Friday", MeetMemo asks you to confirm it instead of guessing. Create tasks by typing or by speaking them.

What it does not do

  • It does not assign tasks to other people or send them notifications. It is your personal follow-up list.
  • Reminders are local to your device today. There is no push-notification service.
  • Calendar sync is manual in the current version. See pricing and plans for plan limits.
